About The Rosellys

Based in Herefordshire (UK), The Rosellys are a five piece band whose music can be best described as "capturing the essence of country, with folk ingredients baked into a transatlantic roots fusion." (R2 Magazine)

This family band is led by life partners Dr Rebecca Rosellys (guitar, vocals, banjo) and Simon Rosellys (guitar, fiddle, vocals), along with Simon's Dad Allan Kelly (pedal steel/accordion) and father/son Matt Kirby (bass) and George Kirby (drums).

The Rosellys began when Simon and Rebecca met in 2005 at an open mic night. This was the start of a 17 year journey (so far!) of songwriting, live shows, road trips across America & recording 5 studio albums - the latest of which ('On The Porch') is released on June 24th 2022.

They have played several live sessions for BBC Radio 4's 'Loose Ends' with a recording due to be aired June 25th alongside their album launch show at The Bear Club (Luton).

In 2015 The Rosellys signed to UK Americana label Clubhouse Records and released their first full band album 'The Granary Sessions', gathering praise from musicians, critics and audiences alike.

"The Rosellys blend English accents with lyrical references to both the UK and US alongside well pitched bass, feisty drum beats and stunning pedal steel and fiddle to create a sound that walks the fine line between Celtic folk and Americana" (Nashville Over Here)

“A brilliant band and a good example of that crossover where Britain meets America and it makes a very special sound indeed” (Ralph McLean – BBC Radio Ulster)

Influenced by artists such as Chris Stapleton, Alison Krauss, Gillian Welch, Gram Parsons & James Taylor to name a few, it is clear The Rosellys have an absolute love for alternative country music.

Other notable achievements include; - Winning Maverick Country Music Festival's 2010 songwriting competition (2010). - Playing at well known roots venues/festivals including Green Note (Camden), The Musician (Leicester), The Louisiana (Bristol), The Basement (Nashville, TN), The Rattle Inn (Austin, TX), Capitol Theatre (Tamworth, Australia), Secret Garden Party, Truck Festival, Ramblin Roots, Didmarton Bluegrass Festival, Buckles & Boots Festival & Summer Pie Festival (Palma, Majorca). - Opening for Chatham County Line at Bush Hall (London) & The Bullingdon (Oxford). - Rebecca performing on BBC 1 TV show 'Pitch Battle' (2017) with her all female band 'The Savannahs'. - Performing/recording with label mates 'The Redlands Palomino Company' and backing USA acts including Cale Tyson (at AMA UK awards ceremony 2016), Don Gollardo, Rachel Laven & The Flyin' A's.

"Hailing from the UK, The Rosellys are really quite an exceptional band" (Maverick Magazine)
